NutriJuice Enterprise (NJE) is a juice processing enterprise established in 2020 with the purpose of producing varieties of high quality bio-fortified fresh fruits juice, fruits salads and dried fruits in Gulu, Northern Uganda. Recent report from Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS, 2016) revealed (60%) of consumers are concerned about the dangers caused by food preservatives in the food processing secctor which range from esophageal, duodenal and to pancreatic cancers. Consequently, consumers are moving from factory processed fruit juice to the locally processed fresh juice. Additionally, (WHO, 2015) estimated that 33% related deaths in the world can be avoided through consuming fresh fruits and vegetables. To fill the gap, NJE is offering therefore high quality bio-fortified fresh fruit juice (avocado, passion fruit, watermelon, beetroot, hibiscus and cocktail), so as to alleviate key micronutrient deficiency among consumers, improve food and nutrition security, alleviate post-harvest loss and improve farmers’ income in Northern Uganda.
